These support core store operation, security, the cart, checkout, network traffic and storage of consent choices. Disabling them may prevent parts of the site from working.

They generally require clear prior information rather than consent.

Functional cookies may remember convenience settings such as language or interface preferences. Where they are not strictly necessary, consent may be required before activation.

Analytics tools may measure visits and use; marketing tools may evaluate and personalize campaigns. They must not load automatically where prior consent is legally required.

Refusing consent must not disable essential shopping functions.

Shopify, payment providers and installed applications may use their own cookies or similar identifiers. They may operate only in accordance with the category actually enabled. External content such as video, maps or social embeds must not load nonessential tracking before consent.

For each provider, the notice must identify its name, role, privacy link, purpose of the identifiers and any transfer outside the European Economic Area.

To be completed by technical audit before launch: the name, provider, domain, purpose, category, expiry or retention period of every cookie and similar technology, and whether it is first party or third party. General category descriptions do not replace this inventory.

The register must cover Shopify core operation, cart, checkout, security, language choice, Digital Downloads delivery, analytics, marketing and every installed application. No tool may operate in production until it has been assessed and assigned to the proper category.

Visitors can reject or accept all nonessential cookies in the banner and decide by category in detailed settings. Rejection must be as visible and easy as acceptance, and withdrawal must be as easy as giving consent.

The banner must not use preselected choices, deceptive colours or wording, coercive layout or a cookie wall that unjustifiably restricts core functions. Nonessential measurement must not begin before a choice. Evidence of consent is retained for the necessary period.

An easily accessible control on every page allows visitors to change or withdraw their choice. Withdrawal stops future processing but does not invalidate processing previously based on valid consent.

Cookies can also be deleted or blocked in browser settings, but restricting strictly necessary cookies may affect the cart, checkout, security and language selection.
